BROW / FOREHEAD / TEMPORAL LIFT
A Forehead / Brow Lift is designed to raise the eyebrows and reduce wrinkles on the forehead, eliminating a furrowed appearance and restoring youthful looks.
Prior to surgery Doctor Pat will consult with prospective patients, to determine expectations and to explain the procedure, including possible after-effects. This will also help the Doctor assess the patients’ suitability for Brow Lift Surgery, and advice on likely results.
The procedure is carried out under general or local anesthetic with sedation. The Doctor makes an incision normally in the hair above hairline, or at the hairline or the upper eyelids (to be decided at the pre-operative consultancy). He will then gather excess skin in order that the deeper layers of the forehead can be lifted. He will also adjust the muscles that depress the eyebrows in order to create a “lifting” effect. Finally, the soft tissue of the forehead will be tightened to provide a more youthful appearance to the upper face.
Some people may suffer from crow foot which can be removed in the same time as temporal lift. The wound for this procedure will be placed in the hair and can not visible after operation.
Following the treatment patients can return to their place of residence. Mild pain and discomfort may be experienced post-operation, for which prescription pain medication can be used. Some degree of swelling be expected for a few days, but this is only temporary. It is also possible that a degree of forehead numbness will continue for a few weeks.
